TikTok lets you add a website link to your profile if you have at least 1,000 followers or a verified business account, according to TikTok Support. If you qualify, tap Profile, Edit profile, then Add next to Links, and paste your Spotify artist link. If you don't qualify yet, the option won't be there.

TikTok's rule has two ways in (TikTok Support):

  • 1,000 followers or more, or
  • A verified business account. The word that matters is verified. Switching your account type is not the same thing.

When someone taps a profile link, TikTok opens it in its own in-app browser. TikTok also says it no longer supports links that open or log in to other social media apps, though you can still link to those platforms' websites.

In the Spotify app, open your artist profile, tap the three dots, then Share and Copy link (Spotify's help center). It starts with open.spotify.com/artist/.

2. Open your TikTok profile

In the TikTok app, tap Profile at the bottom, then Edit profile.

Next to Links, tap Add and follow the steps to add your website. Paste the Spotify link and save.

  • You have fewer than 1,000 followers and no verified business account.
  • Your business account isn't verified. TikTok's help page names verified business accounts, not every business account.
  • Your app is out of date. It's worth updating and restarting the app before you assume anything else.

What can you do before 1,000 followers?

  • Use Instagram. Instagram lets any account add up to five links (Instagram Help). Here's how to put your Spotify link there.
  • Say how to find you. In your videos and your bio text, give the exact words to search: your artist name and "on Spotify".
  • Keep posting the song. Each video with your track is one more place people can hear it.

You get one spot, so use the link that stays right the longest.

If most of your fans listen on Spotify and you don't collect emails, your artist link is enough. If not, a link-in-bio page does more with the same spot. See what to put in it; it works the same on TikTok as on Instagram.

Where does Loud fit?

We make Loud. You search one of your songs, and Loud builds a website (yourname.stayloud.co) and a link in bio (stayloud.co/yourname). That one link goes in your TikTok and Instagram bios. Every day Loud checks for new music and YouTube videos, and a new release shows up on its own, with its own page. Fans can leave their email and city.

Building your page is free, and publishing starts 14 free days. Pro is US$4 a month billed yearly or US$5 monthly.

Where Loud loses: it can't get you past TikTok's 1,000 follower rule. Nobody can. And if you only care about Spotify, your Spotify artist link is free and does the job.

FAQ

At least 1,000, unless you have a verified business account, according to TikTok Support.

A verified business account can add a website link. Switching to a business account without verification may not be enough.

You probably don't meet the rule yet: 1,000 followers or a verified business account. Update the app too.

One that doesn't go stale: your Spotify artist link, or a link-in-bio page that updates with each release.

Yes. A link-in-bio page works on any profile that lets you add a website.

Your website and link in bio, built from your music.

You make the music. Loud builds both from your songs, keeps them up to date with every release, and gathers your fans so you can write to them directly.
