You can send three short emails for a show: an announcement when tickets go on sale, a reminder about a week before, and a short note on the day. Each one needs the city, the date, the venue and a ticket link; the one on the day adds doors time and anything people should know. If your tool lets you, send them only to fans in that city.

What goes in the announcement?

The city, the venue, the date, the ticket link and one reason to come: a new song you'll play live, a guest, your first time in that city. Send it when tickets go on sale.

Subject: Medellín, November 21

I'm playing [Venue] on Friday, November 21. First time there with the full band. Tickets: [link]

You're on my list, so you're hearing it first.

What goes in the reminder?

The same facts, shorter. Say tickets are running low only if it's true.

Subject: Next Friday

Friday at [Venue], doors at 8. Tickets: [link]

What goes in the email on the day?

Doors time, the address and your set time if you know it. No new asks.

Subject: Tonight

Doors at 8, I'm on at 9:30. [Address]. See you there.

Who should get each email?

EmailWhenWho
AnnouncementWhen tickets go on saleFans in that city
ReminderAbout a week beforeFans in that city
On the dayThe day of the showFans in that city
Tour announcementWhen you announce several datesEveryone, with all the dates

People in other cities can't come to a single show, so a tour announcement is the one email that fits your whole list.

How do you keep it short?

  • One email, one thing to do: buy a ticket.
  • The facts first: city and date in the subject or the first line.
  • Your own words. Write like you'd text a friend who likes your music.
  • A link that works on a phone. Open it yourself before sending.

How do you send it only to fans in one city?

You need to know where each fan lives. In Loud, the fan sign-up asks for email and city, so every fan who signs up there has one. Fans you import may not have a city.

We make Loud. You add your show on the Shows page, and it appears on your website and link in bio with a Tickets button that goes to your ticket seller. In Emails you pick the goal "Sell tickets", choose the show, write your message and send it to fans in that city, or pick "Announce your tour" for all your dates. Before sending, Loud shows how many fans will get it and how many emails you have left this month. The Fans page also shows which cities are growing, which can help you decide where to play next.

Fan emails come with Tour: 5,000 a month, at US$12 a month billed yearly or US$15 monthly. The fan sign-up and emails turn on once you confirm the page is yours.

Where Loud loses: it doesn't schedule emails for later, so the reminder and the day-of email are sent by you, on the day. Loud doesn't sell tickets either; the button goes to your ticket seller. If you want sends scheduled weeks ahead, a dedicated email tool may suit you better, and you can export your list from Loud.

FAQ

When should I email fans about a show?

When tickets go on sale, about a week before, and on the day.

What should a show announcement email include?

The city, the venue, the date, a ticket link and one reason to come.

Should I email my whole list about a show in one city?

You don't have to. If your tool lets you choose by city, you can write only to the fans who can go.

Can Loud send emails to fans in one city?

Yes. Every fan signs up with a city, and you choose everyone or one city before sending.

Can I schedule a show reminder in Loud?

No. Loud sends when you click send, so you send the reminder yourself on the day you want it out.

Your website and link in bio, built from your music.

You make the music. Loud builds both from your songs, keeps them up to date with every release, and gathers your fans so you can write to them directly.
